This is that traditional painting I was talking about. Acrylic on Canvas 19x16, I think.
May upload as a print when I scale down the larger version.
For the assignment we went on a trip to an artistic botanical garden with earth art pieces scattered around, we lugged around our large canvases and were to use the areas of the garden as inspiration for a painting.
However not soon after we were to begin painting, it started to rain heavily and we were forced to use photos of the garden as inspiration/reference and paint under the bridge or the entrance building.
You could use any style you want so I freely painted away and this is what I came up with, I should have added more detail to the foreground branches but I don't feel the need to go back and change that anytime soon.
wow! this is great, i just love the water the most, how you used so many different shades, especially in the waterfall and the lower pool. overall the composition is great and the viewer feels a sense of peace. i really like it you are very talented

Contest winners will be featured in a news article and a journal entry--as well as other fabulous prizes. Please read this article for more information on how you can participate!
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
